Elevated above the Tankwa plains on the lower foothills of the majestic Swartruggens, Serenity offers a stylish, cool, free-flowing space from which to observe the vast surrounding array of natural beauty. Favourite features include a wide covered veranda, a sparkling rock pool, a wood-fired hot pool, as well as an outdoor shower and bath surrounded by stunning natural rocky terrain

Featuring three stylishly appointed bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with shower only) and an exquisite open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area opening onto a sweeping 3.5 meter deep verandah, Serenity will house up to six guests. The two rooms containing queen size double rooms open onto their own veranda area. An outdoor built-in braai with seating provides the perfect location for tasty cook-ups while observing the spectacular evening sunset, glass of wine in hand.

The heated pool requires prior notice of intended use since it takes quite a few hours to warm the water the old fashioned way and we need to get the wood-stove going long before our lucky guests arrive.

Serenity comes fully equipped with all amenities and modern appliances from Smeg stove/hob and fridge-freezer to a free-standing, glass-fronted indoor fireplace for those snug winter visits.

Just "WOW" I almost didn’t want to post a review because one wants to keep gems like this to oneself. I have stayed in may self catering places over the years so it’s usually easy to compare places. Serenity definitely reached a new high. Can hardly believe it’s off grid, as every home comfort is there, and sooo much more.
I won’t go into detail, do yourself a favor and book right now!! You won’t be sorry.
I think having an outdoor bath under the Karoo night sky must be my highlight.

Soul food. Beautiful house with everything you need. Karoo sky. The attention to detail is unreal. This is going to become one of those places that are booked out. It may sound like a cliche, but this place is special. Prepare to suffer from Tierkloof fever with the symptoms only wanting to swim, sit on the stoep and absorb the silence.

Blissful, tranquil and serene, Tierkloof - with its iconic Karoo views stretching as far as you can see - is the best antidote to city stress I can think of. The profound silence and peace are deeply relaxing. Each cottage is totally secluded and private and has its own sparkly pool - just what you need in the Karoo in summer. My top tip? Don’t forget to head outdoors after dark to see the astonishing night skies.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Nothing really needs to be said about the location - it’s absolutely stunning. Very peaceful and isolated, amazing views, stars across the entire sky at night. It’s called Serenity for a reason I guess. Robin and Elsa were extraordinarily accommodating. Wow, please do yourself a favour and book this outstanding beautiful place! Can't think of a better place to rewind and get a bunch of new energy and inspiration when you leave. It felt like waking up in The Lion King and being in total serenity and peace. Robin & Elsa did an incredibly good job creating a place where you feel immediately at home. Very well equipped, clean and a big bonus for the fresh veggies from their garden. We absolutely loved every minute being there and it was really hard to leave. Thank you Robin & Elsa, we will miss the company of the most friendly dog Max, but will be back!

We spent 3 nights and could have stayed double that. Unbelievable place and surroundings. Accommodation is very nicely done up and comfortable. We enjoyed lovely walks, lazy afternoons reading books on the veranda, wonderful evenings by the fire and outside baths to amazing sunsets. The views take your breath away. Great find and look forward to coming back many more times.
